Old Dominion scored two goals in the first half Sunday night and held on for a 2-1 victory over Texas-El Paso in a Conference USA game at University Field.
ODU (6-3-2, 3-1-0) struck first in the 41st minute when Carla Morich finished a shot through traffic assisted by Madison Hogan.
Three minutes later in the 44th minute, defender Jackie Stroud scored her team-leading fifth goal. Morich assisted on the goal.
In the 48th minute, UTEP’s Kennadie Chaudhary cut ODU’s lead in half.
The Monarchs finished with a 19-8 advantage in shots and 12-3 edge in shots on goal.
