Women’s Hoops Falls Short at VCU, 62-49

RICHMOND, Va. – The Old Dominion (7-2) women's basketball team fell to VCU on the road 62-49 to snap their four-game win streak.

"We're a team that has to score in transition to be very effective," said head coach Nikki McCray. "We had to open up the game and get the ball down the floor, so we didn't have to come down and play against that length that we faced a majority of that time."

In the opening 10 minutes, ODU struggled to score, trailing 15-8 through the first quarter. Aziah Hudson scored six of the Monarchs eight points during that time.
