SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – Behind 11 points from both and , the Monarchs (4-1) defeated Cal Poly, 61-55 on Friday afternoon. The win marks the programs first victory over Cal Poly (1-5).
ODU got off to a hot start, taking a 17-8 lead after the first 10 minutes of play. In the second quarter, ODU outscored the Mustangs 15-11. In just the first two quarters, ODU earned eight steals. The Monarchs went into the locker room with a 32-19 lead.
The Monarchs opened up scoring in the third quarter, leading by 19 with 5:57 left.
