JOHNS ISLAND, S.C. -- Through 36 holes at the Briar's Creek Invitational in South Carolina, the Old Dominion women's golf team sits in a tie for seventh in the 17-team event.
The Monarchs (+12), who are coming off of a team title at the UNF Collegiate two weeks ago, carded a 7-over 295 in the opening round followed by a 5-over 293 in the second and are six strokes ahead of 37th-ranked East Carolina (+18). No. 29 North Carolina (-11) leads the event.
Individually, Charlotte De Corte (-2) turned in a pair of 1-under rounds and is tied for sixth.
