Western Kentucky walks off a winner over Old Dominion in 14 innings

Kevin Lambert’s single scored the winning run in the bottom of the 14th inning Friday night, giving Western Kentucky an 8-7 victory over Old Dominion in Conference USA baseball Friday night at Nick Denes Field.

It was ODU's longest game, in terms of innings, since 2014.

Andy Garriola had three hits, including a grand slam, for the Monarchs (34-19, 15-14). Matt Burch added three hits and two RBIs.

The teams conclude the regular season at 2 p.m. Saturday. ODU, which qualified for the conference tournament, will be the fifth or sixth seed.
