Vinnie Pasquantino drove in two runs Tuesday as Old Dominion (27-17) held off the Hokies (24-22) before 4,185 at Harbor Park in the Commonwealth Classic.
Pasquantino's 10th home run of the season, a blast to the party deck in right field, broke a 2-2 tie in the fifth inning, and neither team scored again.
He's the first Monarch with a double-digit season in home runs since Ben Verlander in 2013.
ODU basketball coach Jeff Jones threw out the first pitch, and seven Hokies and eight Monarchs followed him to the mound.
