NORFOLK (WAVY) – It seemed just like old times…only with much smaller receivers.
Taylor Heinicke, standing at about the 2-yard line, waited as a young camper sprinted toward the endzone, lobbed a football to the corner, and watched the young-gun make a terrific catch, followed by a pretty good endzone dance.
“We saw some interesting (endzone dances),” said Heinicke, the former record-setting quarterback at Old Dominion, who was back in town hosting his second youth camp, but his first that was free.
“I thought it was a success,” he said.
After setting virtually every passing record at ODU, Heinicke’s now a third-string quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings, and last year threw for two touchdowns and over 500 yards in all five preseason game.
