COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Old Dominion men’s soccer team (8-5-2. 5-2-0 C-USA) fell to South Carolina (5-8-2, 1-4-2, C-USA) on Sunday afternoon in Columbia, S.C., 3-2. The Monarchs notched two goals in the first half but could not rally back to defeat the Gamecocks.
The Monarchs scored in just the second minute with a Niko Klosterhalfen goal.
In the 22nd minute, Sebastien Hauret notched the second goal for Old Dominion and his fourth goal of the season.
Just before halftime, South Carolina Luca Mayr was awarded a penalty kick, which closed the Monarch lead to 2-1.
