IRVING, TEXAS – Old Dominion University swimming and diving senior Sofie Sjoberg was named ODU’s recipient of the Conference USA Spirit of Service Award, C-USA announced on Tuesday.
The C-USA Spirit of Service Award is designed to recognize the community service efforts of the league’s student-athletes, based upon significant community service, good academic standing and participation in their elected sport. The Spirit of Service Award will be presented three times throughout the season, with today’s honorees representing Conference USA’s winter sports: basketball, indoor track and field and swimming and diving.
At this year’s Conference USA Championships, Sjoberg finished third in the 100 freestyle with an NCAA B-cut time of 49.
