NORFOLK, Va. -- After earning her second Conference USA Player of the Week honor last season, redshirt junior guard Jennie Simms was named to the C-USA Player of the Week honor roll, the league announced on Monday.
Simms averaged a monstrous 26.5 points, including a 39-point onslaught at UTSA last week. She was just shy of a double-double against the top Conference USA team, as she put up 14 points and eight rebounds against UTEP. On Saturday against the Roadrunners, she shot 50.0 percent from the floor (10-20) and went 18-for-21 from the charity stripe. Her 21 free-throw attempts, 18 free-throws made and 39 points are the most by any C-USA player this season.
