NORFOLK, Va. -- Junior guard Jennie Simms has been named the Conference USA Player of the Week for the second time this season after averaging a double-double of 25 points and 10 rebounds in two games last week. Awards are chosen by a vote from a panel representing the 14 member schools.
Simms led the Lady Monarchs to a 1-1 week after the team fell in overtime to WKU and cruised to a 22-point win over Marshall. Against one of the best team in the conference and a team that is receiving votes in the USA Today Coaches Poll, Simms put up 28 points to go along with her eight rebounds, four assists and one block.
