Rice with 2 FGs, Old Dominion beats Charlotte 6-0

NORFOLK, Va. -- Nick Rice kicked a pair of field goals for the only points in the game as Old Dominion shut out Charlotte 6-0 on Saturday afternoon.

Rice hit a 40-yarder late in the first quarter and his second field goal from 30 yards for a 6-0 lead with 5:03 left in the third. It was enough as the Monarchs (3-6, 1-4 Conference USA) controlled the ball for 39:04, outgained Charlotte 326-231, and held the 49ers (1-8, 1-4) to just eight first downs.

Steven Williams threw for 153 yards and Ray Lawry ran for 98 yards on 25 carries.
