NORFOLK, Va. -- Former Old Dominion baseball head coach Pat McMahon will be inducted into the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Hall of Fame as a member of the Class of 2018, the organization announced.
McMahon coached the Monarch baseball team from 1990 to 1994, leading the team to a pair of NCAA Regional appearances as well as the 1994 CAA Championship. He compiled a 189-86 record during his tenure and was also named the CAA Coach of the Year following the 1994 season.
Under McMahon, numerous Monarchs were drafted, inlcuding Wayne Gomes who was the fourth overall selection in the first round of the 1993 MLB Draft.
