Old Dominion field hockey shuts out No. 17 James Madison

Ilse Westera scored the tiebreaking goal and assisted on another as Old Dominion shut out James Madison, 3-0, on Sunday afternoon at the L.R. Hill Sports Complex.

Westera put the Monarchs (4-0) ahead in the 26th minute, scoring on a rebound in front of the open net. She then assisted Kristen Vick (Lakeland), who scored 36 seconds into the second half.

Tori Harwood scored on a rebound three minutes later.

Lacey Frazier (1-0), a Princess Anne graduate, made three saves in a complete-game effort for the Monarchs. Kyler Zampiello (0-1) turned aside six shots but allowed all three goals for the Dukes (1-3).
