NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion women’s soccer team (1-2) fell to VCU (1-2) by a 2-1 score on Thursday night at the ODU Soccer Complex. The Lady Monarchs had their 1-0 lead at halftime wiped away by two unanswered second half Rams goals.
ODU got on the scoreboard first in the 42nd minute off an Iris Achterhof corner kick, in which the VCU goalkeeper bumped it into her net for an own goal, giving the Lady Soccer Monarchs a 1-0 lead heading into the locker rooms at the half.
In the first 45 minutes of play, Old Dominion held a 6-3 advantage in shots and took the games only two corners.
