NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion women’s team (3-1) fell to Tennessee (1-0) by a 4-3 score on Saturday afternoon at the Folkes-Stevens Tennis Center. The Volunteers were the only team to receive votes in the ITA Top 25 national poll this week.

The Tennis Monarchs started the day off by claiming the doubles point and taking a 1-0 lead after receiving victories from Holly Hutchinson/Yulia Starodubtseva and Victoria Olivarez/Nataliia Vlasova on Courts No. 1 and No. 2.

Nataliia Vlasova and Adriana Rajkovic picked up wins in singles play, but Tennessee took care of business in the other four singles matches, lifting the Volunteers to a narrow 4-3 win on Saturday afternoon in Norfolk.
