NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion women’s tennis team (9-6) dropped a hard fought match to Marshall (10-6) by a 4-3 score on Sunday afternoon at the Folkes-Stevens Tennis Center.
ODU’s double tandems Borislava Botusharova/Marijana Novakovic and Adriana Rajkovic/Natalya Malenko took care of business to give ODU a 1-0 lead.
Ingrid Vojcinakova gave the Lady Monarchs a 2-1 lead after downing Anna Pomyatinskaya (6-1, 6-3).
No. 89 Borislava Botusharova made it a 3-2 advantage for Old Dominion after straight setting Stephanie Smith (7-5, 6-2), but the Thundering Herd would claim victory in No. 1, 3, 5 and 6 singles to ultimately squeak out a 4-3 win on Sunday in Norfolk.
