Four Old Dominion pitchers combined on a three-hit shutout in a 5-0 nonconference college baseball victory Wednesday over Virginia Military Institute at Bud Metheny Complex.
Tommy Gertner started and went three innings, Jim Fluke went 2u2153 innings, Isaiah Nelson (Norfolk Academy) pitched 1u2154 innings and Connor Muly finished with two innings in the fourth straight victory and second straight shutout for the Monarchs, who defeated Norfolk State 11-0 on Tuesday.
Nelson earned the victory Wednesday.
ODU pitchers have recorded 26 strikeouts against no walks in the past two games.
"We pitched really well," said Monarchs coach Chris Finwood.
