Old Dominion blanks Providence, earns trip to Big East field hockey tournament

Danielle Grega scored twice in the first half Friday afternoon and Old Dominion beat Providence 2-0 at Lennon Family Field to secure a bid to next week's Big East field hockey tournament.

Grega's goals, both unassisted, came less than four minutes apart late in the first half. She deflected in a loose ball in the 28th minute, then flicked in a reverse shot in the 32nd minute.

Freshman goalkeeper Lacey Frazier recorded her second shutout of the season, making five saves for the Monarchs (8-8, 5-2 Big East), who finish the regular season by hosting No. 4 Virginia at 1 p.
