Sebastien Hauret’s goal in the sixth minute Friday night was the difference in Old Dominion’s 1-0 victory over New Mexico at the ODU Soccer Complex in the Conference USA regular-season finale for both.
Hans Kroschwitz assisted on the Monarchs’ tally – the first goal the Lobos allowed in more than 231 minutes. Hauret, a sophomore from France, beat New Mexico keeper Jason Beaulieu to the left side of the net.
ODU (9-5-2, 6-2-0) hosts the C-USA tournament, and will play in a quarterfinal at 7 p.m. Wednesday. New Mexico (8-5-4, 3-3-2), which lost for just the second time in 10 matches, also earned a berth in the seven-team field.
