The Old Dominion baseball team is tough on Sundays and tough to sweep.
Kyle Battle hit a walk-off, inside-the-park home run with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning Sunday to give the Monarchs an 8-7 victory over Middle Tennessee in their Conference USA series finale at Bud Metheny Complex.
The win gave Old Dominion (10-16, 3-6 C-USA) its sixth straight win on a Sunday – all helping the Monarchs avoid a series sweep.
With the game tied at 7, Battle drove a deep ball to center field. The Blue Raiders center fielder was unable to make a play at the warning track and Battle just beat the relay home for ODU's second walk-off win of the season.
