State Sen. Frank Wagner has attended Old Dominion football games as a real fan – meaning his seat was in the stands, not in the luxury suites.
So he's experienced what most ODU fans have endured at Foreman Field: knees in the back, long lines at concession stands and those awful portable potties.
"Never a pleasant experience," Wagner said of the mobile johns.
That's one of the reasons the Republican from Virginia Beach said he supports Old Dominion's recent request to spend $10 million more of its own money to renovate Foreman Field. The request, made months by ODU to the General Assembly, was revealed in a story last week by Virginian-Pilot sports writer Ed Miller.
