PITTSBURGH, Pa. — Larry Early dropped his seventh-place match at the NCAA wrestling championships on Saturday, but he had already become the Monarchs’ 33rd All-American by reaching that bout.
Early lost 3-2 to Arizona State’s Christian Pagdiloa to finish eighth at 157 pounds. The junior from Oak Park, Ill., went 3-3 in the NCAA meet and finished 25-8 for the season.
ODU’s Michael McGee fell just short of All-American status, competing in five matches before falling to Princeton’s Pat Glory 7-1.
The Monarchs’ Sa'Derian Perry competed in three matches.
“We are proud of our guys' perfomances this weekend,” said ODU coach Steve Martin.
