ODU wrestlers edged by Duke

NORFOLK | Duke’s Cole Baumgartner used an escape and a riding time point to earn a 2-0 decision at 133 in the meet’s final bout, propelling Duke to an 18-16 wrestling win over Old Dominion on Wednesday night at the Ted Constant Center.

ODU (4-8) led 16-6 with three matches remaining. But Duke (3-5) rallied to take the non-conference dual-meet when Jacob Kasper pinned Will Hilliard at 285 and Thayer Atkins (125) and Baumgartner won decisions.

The Monarchs’ Seldon Wright (Oscar Smith High), ranked No. 19 at 165, had a 10-2 major decision over Garrett Neff. At 174, true freshman Antonio Agee won his fourth consecutive match, topping Michael Wright 4-1.
