Louis Hayes, ranked No. 11 at 125 pounds, scored a 9-6 decision Sunday over Old Dominion's Michael McGee, and the Virginia wrestling team beat the Monarchs 25-10 in a nonconference dual at the Constant Center.
Third-ranked Jack Mueller followed Hayes with an 11-1 major decision over Caleb Richardson at 133 pounds to cap five straight wins by the Cavaliers.
No. 19 Larry Early (157), Antonio Agee (184) and Alex Madrigal (141) earned the lone wins for the Monarchs. No. 20 Seldon Wright, a graduate of Oscar Smith High, fell 7-6 to No. 19 Will Schany at 174 pounds.
