When Old Dominion hires a women's basketball coach, the first challenge the new boss will face will come in the Preseason WNIT.
The Lady Monarchs are one of 16 teams selected to play in this year's event, tournament officials announced on Wednesday.
The November competition features a three-game guarantee for all teams, with the first-round matchups and the bracket to be announced later this spring.
Among the teams in the field are George Mason, Liberty, Louisville, Michigan and Texas A&M.
The Lady Monarchs went 17-14 a year ago but lost head coach Karen Barefoot, who took the head coaching job at UNC Wilmington earlier this month.
