WILMINGTON, N.C. – The Old Dominion women’s soccer team (2-2-1) will take on UNCW (2-4-0) on Thursday, Sept. 7 at 7:00 p.m.
The Monarchs enter Thursday’s contest after most recently playing unbeaten East Carolina (4-0-0 entering match) to a 0-0 draw on Sunday night.
On Monday afternoon, ODU defender and senior captain, Jackie Stroud (Raleigh, N.C.), was named the Conference USA Defender of the Week. Stroud has helped lead the Monarchs defense to 138 consecutive minutes without allowing a goal. On the road against ECU, Stroud, who played the entire match, helped keep the Pirates scoreless for 110 minutes, which marked the first time all season ECU had been shutout.
