Erin Huffman scored a penalty-stroke goal in the 46th minute Saturday and Old Dominion posted its second straight shutout with a 1-0 victory over Kent State on Saturday at Ralph Young Field.
The Monarchs (2-0), who blanked Michigan State 2-0 in their opener Friday, outshot the Golden Flashes 9-1.
Huffman broke free and only had Kent State goalkeeper Mary Crumlish to beat, but Crumlish took Huffman down to draw the penalty. Huffman converted the penalty shot for her second goal of the season.
The Monarchs will visit William & Mary at 6 p.m. Friday.
