NORFOLK, Va. -- Old Dominion registered its biggest win in program history, stunning No. 10 Virginia Tech, 49-35, on Saturday afternoon at Foreman Field at S.B. Ballard Stadium in front of a stadium-record crowd of 20,532.
The victory was ODU's first-ever win over a ranked FBS opponent and also its first-ever win against a Power-5 foe.
Blake LaRussa came off the bench to throw for 495 yards and four touchdowns to guide Old Dominion (1-3) to the monumental victory. The 495 yards were the second-most Virginia Tech (2-1) has ever allowed to an opposing quarterback.
