SAN FRANCISCO -- The Old Dominion sailing team registered a fifth place finish out of 10 participating schools at the Jeremy McIntyre Team Race in San Francisco over the weekend.
Serving as the host of the event, Stanford's Cardinal team captured the title while UC Santa Barbara finished as the runner-up. The Stanford White team clinched third while Santa Barbara City College and Old Dominion rounded out the top five, respectively. The Monarchs finished ahead of Hawaii, USC, Northwestern, Cal Berkeley and Cal Poly.
After competing in nine races, ODU compiled a 6-3 record. The Monarchs opened up with back-to-back victories over Berkeley and Northwestern before losing to Santa Barbara City College.
