Chesapeake’s Brandon Perdue scored in the second minute, and it was all the offense the Old Dominion men’s soccer team needed in a 3-0 win over Oakland on Sunday at the ODU Soccer Complex.
Mertcan Akar, a transfer from Belmont University, made four saves for his first shutout as a Monarch and the fourth of his career.
ODU’s Niko Klosterhalfen beat the keeper in the 43rd minute, and Max Wilschrey padded the lead in the 62nd.
The Monarchs (2-0), who won the ODU/VCU Tournament, host Saint Francis on Friday in the opener of the ODU Soccer Classic.
