NORFOLK | Cole Stringer scored the tying goal on a header in the 32nd minute, and the Old Dominion men’s soccer team held on for a 1-1 draw with Stetson after two overtime periods on Sunday night at the ODU Soccer Complex.
Ian McCauley gave the Hatters the lead in the 6th minute, finding the net after a pair of headers by Luke Ferreira and Gabriel Diniz.
Stringer, a senior, connected off a corner kick from freshman CJ Taylor.
The Monarchs (1-0-1) outshot Stetson (1-0-1) 26-6 and held a 19-7 advantage in corner kicks.
Alex Tiesenhausen made two saves for ODU, and Stetson’s Paul Ladwig had 10.
