Old Dominion has hired Mallory Hetzel as its head women’s golf coach, the school announced on Tuesday.

Hetzel was the head women’s coach at Western Carolina for the past six seasons. Four of her WCU golfers earned All-Southern Conference accolades and two more earned All-Freshman team honors.

As a player at Georgia, Hetzel posted eight top-10 individual finishes, including a third-place finish at the 2009 SEC Championship. She was also a part of Georgia’s 2006-07 SEC Championship squad.

She has continued to compete as an amateur while coaching, winning the women’s championship in the Carolinas Golf Association in 2014 and 2015.
