NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – The Old Dominion University football team is playing in their first bowl game ever for the program this week. The school held a pep-rally Monday morning to send them off in style.
Monday’s sendoff event in the North Mall Atrium featured the ODU Marching Monarchs, the Cheer & Dance team and Big Blue. ODU Coach Bobby Wilder spoke to the excited crowd and even Senator Mark R. Warner (D-VA) was on hand to wish the team good luck.
ODU’s football team is playing in the Popeye’s Bahamas Bowl. They were 9-3 this season and tied for first place in the East Division of Conference USA.
