Booter Ellis scored on a penalty corner kick in the 47th minute as No. 18 William & Mary overcame a blown 2-0 lead for a 3-2 field hockey victory over Old Dominion on Sunday at the L.R. Hill Sports Complex.
It was the Monarchs' first home defeat since falling to No. 7 Penn State in their season opener.
After trailing 2-0 at the half, ODU (6-8) stormed back to even the score with goals by Danielle Grega and Carrie Sensenig – both on corner kicks.
The Monarchs nearly tied it in the 61st minute, but Julia Demeester's diving attempt was swiped off the goal line by a Tribe defender.
