ODU Edged by No. 4 UNC in OT Thriller, 2-1

NORFOLK, Va. - The Old Dominion men’s soccer team (7-3-2, 4-0-0 C-USA) fell to the No. 4 UNC (12-2-1, 4-1-1 ACC) Tar Heels in double overtime, 2-1 on Tuesday night in Cary, N.C. The Monarchs went into their third overtime match of the season.

"I'm very proud of our effort tonight against an excellent North Carolina team. I'm disappointed for our players because they were so close to getting a result," said head coach Alan Dawson.

In the first half, the Tar Heels had nine shots over Old Dominion’s two. Mertcan Akar had three saves for the Monarchs.
