ODU earns tie on road in women's soccer

Natalie Johnson scored her third goal of the season to help Old Dominion play Louisiana Tech to a 1-1 draw in a Conference USA women's soccer match Sunday at the Lady Techster Soccer Complex.

The Monarchs (7-3-4, 4-1-2) – off to their best start in C-USA – earned a point for the tie and stayed in third place in the league standings behind unbeaten Rice (7-0) and North Texas (5-0-1). Their 14 points put them just ahead of UAB and Charlotte, with 13 each.

After a scoreless first half, Haley Laque converted a penalty kick in the 68th minute to give the Lady Techsters (10-2-5, 3-1-3) a 1-0 lead.
