Old Dominion has extended its commitment to basketball coach Jeff Jones, tearing up his old contract that had two years remaining and signing him to a new one that runs through 2022.
Jones will get a modest raise in the new deal, which is heavily incentive-based. He'll make $506,974 this season, roughly $50,000 more than his former contract. He will be among the three highest-paid coaches in Conference USA, according to athletic director Wood Selig.
“This sends an important message to recruits and others that institutionally we are extremely pleased with the leadership and body of work, both academically and competitively, that Jeff has provided during his first five years,” Selig said in a news release.
