Niko Klosterhalfen scored a first-half goal and keeper Mertcan Akar made two saves as the Old Dominion men’s soccer team blanked Virginia Commonwealth 1-0 in a non-conference game Tuesday night at the ODU Soccer Complex.
Klosterhalfen’s second goal of the season came at the 32:05 mark and was assisted by Jimmy Filerman.
The win was the second in a row for the Monarchs (4-1-2), who ran their unbeaten streak to four games (2-0-2).
The Monarchs return to Conference USA play with a home game against Alabama-Birmingham at 7 p.m. Saturday.
