No. 6 Deep Creek upsets No. 4 Indian River to stay unbeaten in the Southeastern District

The Deep Creek-Indian River match-up was billed as the game of the week. And the game more than lived up to the hype.

Before a crowd of nearly 5,000 fans at the newly named James L. Frye Stadium, the fans witnessed one of the most amazing games of the season.

Deep Creek, which trailed 19-7 at halftime, rallied to take a three-point lead in the third quarter. But Indian River had one more chance with less than two minutes left.

With the ball on the Deep Creek 3 with 1:23 remaining and fans on their feet, the Braves couldn’t get into the end zone.
