NORFOLK, Va. – The No. 44 Old Dominion University men’s tennis team (19-4) defeated Middle Tennessee (16-9) by a 4-3 score in the regular season finale, which also marked Senior Day on Sunday afternoon at the Folkes-Stevens Tennis Center. ODU finished the season with a perfect 11-0 record at home.
The Tennis Monarchs jumped out to an early 1-0 advantage after Michael Weindl and Jacob Nicolussi claimed a 6-3 win in No. 2 doubles, while senior Darragh Glavin and Theophile Lanthiez clinched with a 6-3 win in No. 3 doubles.
After doubles play, Darragh Glavin (Newbridge, Kildare, Ireland) and Zvonimir Podvinski (Zagreb, Croatia) were honored for their four years of hard-work to the program and commitment to the University on and off the court.
