Old Dominion dropped its fourth consecutive Conference USA baseball game Friday night when No. 17 Florida Atlantic scored three runs in the eighth inning to win 10-7 at Bud Metheny Complex.
The Monarchs (19-8, 3-4) scored four runs in the bottom of the first, thanks to a three-run double by Kurt Sinnen (Kellam), who then scored when Nick Lustrino reached on an error.
The first-place Owls (19-4, 6-1) tied the game in the third, sending all nine batters to the plate. The teams scored three runs apiece over the fifth and sixth innings to make it 7-7.
