NORFOLK, Va. – Francois Musitelli (Dijon, France) of the Old Dominion men's tennis team was named the Conference USA Athlete of the Week on Wednesday afternoon, as announced and voted on by league officials.
After dropping the first set, Musitelli upset the No. 33 nationally ranked singles player, Joshua Charlton, of Oregon in three sets 5-7, 7-6 (11-9), 1-0 (10-8). Musitelli went 2-0 in singles for the week, while helping lift ODU to a 4-1 victory over New Mexico in Eugene. Musitelli and the No. 50 nationally ranked Monarchs are now 11-3 on the season.
