LEXINGTON, Va. -- Will Morgan went 5-for-5 with a home run and eight RBIs and Old Dominion routed VMI, 17-8, for its fifth straight win on Tuesday evening at Gray-Minor Stadium in Lexington.
The 17 runs were a new season high for Old Dominion (33-18). It was the Monarchs' first at VMI (15-38), head coach Chris Finwood's alma mater, since 2015.
Morgan hit a three-run, opposite-field home run, his eighth of the year, in the fourth inning to give ODU a 7-2 cushion.
