GREAT FALLS, Va. – After shooting a combined 4-under par in the first two qualifying rounds of the 107th Virginia State Golf Association (VSGA) Amateur Championship, senior Carter Morgan of the Old Dominion men's golf team was defeated by Dustin Groves on the tie-breaking 19th hole in the round of 32 on Thursday afternoon at River Bend Club.
Morgan, a native of Tappahannock, Va., and Groves each birdied three holes on the front nine and shot an even par on the back nine in today's head-to-head round, both scoring a 3-under 68 after 18 holes.
