Old Dominion suffered its first shutout of the season Sunday, losing 11-0 to No. 17 Florida Atlantic in the finale of their three-game Conference USA baseball series at Bud Metheny Complex.
The Monarchs were swept by a league foe for the second consecutive weekend.
Left-hander Sean Labsan (4-0) and three relievers combined to allow ODU (19-10, 3-6) just three hits.
The game was stopped after eight innings by the C-USA travel day rule – if a team is winning by 10-plus runs after the seventh inning, the game is halted.
The Owls (21-4, 8-1) led 5-0 after six innings, then poured it on with three runs each in the seventh and eighth.
