Monarchs spread scoring around, trip UAB in C-USA men's soccer

Old Dominion got goals from three different players Saturday in outlasting Alabama-Birmingham 3-2 for a Conference USA victory at the ODU Soccer Complex.

Max Wilschrey and Chesapeake’s Brandon Perdue scored to give the Monarchs a 2-0 halftime lead. A UAB tally in the 59th minute made it 2-1 before CJ Taylor pushed the margin to 3-1 nearly five minutes later.

The Blazers made it a one-goal game again in the 86th minute, but couldn't net the equalizer.

Monarchs goalkeeper Mertcan Akar made two saves. Perdue leads the team with five goals.
