EL PASO, Texas – The Old Dominion women’s soccer team (6-3-2, 3-1-0) defeated UTEP (6-7-0, 2-2-0) by a 2-1 score at University Field on Sunday night.
ODU struck first in the 41st minute when Carla Morich finished a shot through traffic assisted by Madison Hogan to give the Monarchs a 1-0 lead.
Three minutes later in the 44th minute, defender Jackie Stroud scored her team leading fifth goal of the season to stretch Old Dominion’s advantage to 2-0 at the half. Stroud’s goal was assisted by Carla Morich.
At the half, ODU dominated the shot count (10-1), while holding a 6-0 advantage for shots on goal.
