Three Old Dominion pitchers combined on a three-hit shutout, while the offense collected 11 hits Friday in a 13-0 season-opening college baseball victory over LIU Brooklyn at Bud Metheny Complex.
Left-hander Adam Bainbridge started and allowed two hits in five innings to get the win. Jim Wilkerson and Isaiah Nelson followed with two innings each.
The Monarchs scored two runs in the first inning, three in the second and seven in the third to put this one away early. Nick Walker (Kellam) had three hits and four RBIs, Jared Young had two hits and two RBIs, Culver Lamb (Tallwood) had two hits and Kurt Sinnen (Kellam) hit a two-run home run for ODU.
