Tara Vittese, Colleen Norair, Makayla Gallen and Greta Ell each scored a goal in a dominant first half as No. 4 Virginia defeated Old Dominion 4-2 in a field hockey match Sunday at the L.R. Hill Sports Complex.
It was the regular-season finale for both teams. The Cavaliers (15-3) outshot the Monarchs (8-9) 15-2 in the half.
Julia Demeester scored at the 56-minute mark to get ODU on the board, tapping in an Alexandria Brewer cross for her first goal of the season. Erin Huffman then scored her team-leading 11th goal of the season in the 66th minute.
